2012 Olympics could be flat-packed
Olympic 2012 organisers have revealed plans to flat-pack the main stadium and send it on to the next host city. Senior Officials have begun talks with Chicago, who are the current favourite to host the 2016 games. The idea could make the games much more cost effective for this country (already quadrupled from the original estimate to £9.3bn). If the games took on such a travelling circus feel it would also mean that poorer nations could be serious contenders to host the event. Meanwhile, builders at the east London Olympic park have been ordered to use public transport to get to work to ease congestion. By 2010 23,000 will be working on the project site.
