Graduates maintain strong salary bracket
Graduates this summer might not be able to get a job, but the good news is, if they did, they would still earn a decent amount of money. In the last twenty years the number of school leavers going to uni has risen from 14% to 40% but economists say the advantages of a degree have not been diluted by this. The long-term research suggests the economy requires more skilled workers, supporting a buoyant jobs market for graduates. But not this summer, Lancaster Uni’s Professor Walker says students about to leave university could be less fortunate - and that the current recession could leave a long-term legacy on their employment chances. Thanks for that Professor Walker.
