This is David Vernon and his a regional controller with Wickes, which means hes in charge of 14 stores ensuring that they maximise their potential and profits. One of his core beliefs is developing his colleagues, so making sure that theyre well trained and versed so that they can deliver a quality shopping experience to their customers. David works with another 4 regional controllers within his division and there are 3 divisions within Wickes businesses, each with a divisional director and another director to oversee overall operations. The thing that Wickes really heavily promotes is cross functional working meaning that if no matter what Wickes store youre in everyone will be pulling in the same direction. Even though David is higher up the corporate ladder he still gets to interact with everyone of the 400+ regional team. Once a month he meets with store managers so that they can bond and so that he gets to learn a little bit more about everyone involved.
