Description:
At the moment a lot of students are applying for jobs away from their degree. In these cases they're relying on their transferable skills such as communication skills or those that have been developed in extracurricular activities such as leadership or team work. Its been well highlighted in the media that there are fewer graduate positions than last year so there are inevitably more applications, which is leading students to look further afield and occasionally even to working abroad, which is a fantastic opportunity at the time and really enhances your CV for the future. One thing that most would look at as a necessity for working aboard is to speak that language, but in reality it is not. Its something that will obviously help, but it is not the be all and end all when it comes to foreign recruitment. Large multinationals are currently looking for English educated graduates to join their international management schemes as a British education is believe it or not highly prized.
